  • F1: 'Budgie 9' released from Malaysian custody

SEPANG, SELANGOR, MALAYSIA - OCTOBER 06: Australians that stripped down to their speedos during Malaysian Formula 1 Grand Prix arrive at the Sepang Magistrate Court to find out about their fate on October 6, 2016 in Sepang, Selangor, Malaysia. Malaysian police arrested nine Australian men at the Malaysian Grand Prix in Sepang for wearing underwear with Malaysia's national flag imprinted on them on Sunday, October 2. The nine men, aged 25 to 29, were celebrating an Australian driver's victory at the Formula 1 Grand Prix race by stripping down to briefs that featured Malaysia's flag while being investigated for intentionally disrupting peace. The nine men being held in Malaysia for their way of celebrating when Daniel Ricciardo won the Malaysian Grand Prix last Sunday, have been released with just a fine and are now headed home to Australia.

The men stripped down to their ‘budgie smuggler’ underwear brandishing the Malaysian flag in front of the thousands of other fans celebrating at the track, an offense punishable by Malaysian law.

Bets are that the nine men will think twice before 'dropping their dacks' in public again.
